Jiangxi actively promotes the development of LED industry

"After the global financial crisis, a new energy revolution and a green wave dominated by a low-carbon economy will sweep the world. Shang Yong believes Only by developing a low-carbon economy can Jiangxi's ecological advantages be transformed into economic advantages, and a road of Jiangxi development with regional characteristics and global significance will emerge. Today's low-carbon industry in Jiangxi has begun to have strategic advantages not only in the ecological environment but also on the industrial base. For example, Nanchang’s creation of “World Light Capital” is unique in that it has its own property rights. The silicon-based light-emitting diode technology independently developed by Jiangxi Jingneng Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. breaks the monopoly of US and Japan technology and is the third semiconductor laser (LED) enterprise with original intellectual property rights in China.
According to Shang Yong, in the context of increasing energy shortages in the world, LED as a green light source for energy conservation and environmental protection has attracted attention from all over the world. The developed countries in the world have launched their own LED lighting plans. The Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government attach great importance to this and include LEDs. One of the 14 key industries in the province to attract investment, introduced a series of support policies, and actively promote the development of the LED industry.

LED industry annual sales revenue breaks 100 billion

Shang Yong also said that Nanchang LED industry has developed rapidly and has a number of LED companies such as Lianchuang Optoelectronics and Jingneng Optoelectronics, which have formed a complete industrial chain from research and development to production to application. By 2012, the annual sales revenue of LED industry in Jiangxi Province will exceed 100 billion yuan. Under the guidance of the LED industry, the low-carbon economy has become a dominant industry in the development of advanced manufacturing in Nanchang, and has continuously expanded the development field. At present, a large number of low-carbon industries such as electric vehicle power modules, environmentally friendly electric vehicles, LED green lighting, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly building materials and new energy equipment are emerging.

“Jiangxi is a province with a relatively late industrial start. The economic model and industrial system have not yet been finalized and matured, but because of this, the development of low-carbon economy in Jiangxi can be carried out lightly. The adjustment and transformation of the industry to a low-carbon economy has low cost and resistance. The filial piety has a quick advantage.” Shang Yong introduced that the provincial party secretary Su Rong’s main move in Jiangxi was to make a strategic decision to build the “Pangyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone”. According to this, Jiangxi's “Top Ten Emerging Industries” are low-carbon industries, which is the comparative advantage of Jiangxi.
