Let remote control become history: American manufacturer Vizio releases M series without remote control TV

Make the remote control history? This is part of the Vizio new product plan for American TV manufacturers. The remote control has a long history, but after the popularity of portable smart devices such as mobile tablet PCs, the interaction of the remote control seems to be somewhat simple. The new products released by Vizio Inc. come with a tablet computer as a remote control, directly killing the existence of the remote control.

Last month, Vizio told us that it plans to make TV remotes into history. Now, Vizio has quickly fulfilled this promise. The company has launched a new M Series 4K TV with built-in Dolby Vision HDR technology and new Android remote control software. Like the recently released P Series 4K TVs, the M Series will use VIZIO's SmartCast application and comes with a free 6-inch Android tablet as a remote control and Google projection support.

Vizio also launched the E-series 4K TV product today, which also comes with SmartCast and Google Projection features, but it does not come with a free tablet. Users can download SmartCast software from the App Store or Google Play for playing and controlling TVs. Among the E-series 4K TVs, 43-inch 4K TV starts at US$469, which is one of the lowest prices offered by major TV manufacturers.

Vizio does not refer to the products announced today as televisions. Instead, it refers to these devices as "home theater display" devices because the P, M and E series products do not have built-in TV tuners. The E-series starts at $229 and the M-series starts at $849. Today, it will be available for sale at major US retailers.
