Taizhou, Zhejiang built 20 kV power supply "energy-saving low-carbon power grid"

With the first 110/20 kilovolt substation officially put into operation, Taizhou, Zhejiang formed an “energy-saving and low-carbon power grid” with a 20-kilovolt power supply line as the backbone. Compared with 10 kV distribution lines, the power supply radius increased by 60 %, the power supply range is increased by 1.5 times, the power supply capacity is doubled, and the transmission loss is reduced by 75%.

It is understood that the 110/20 kilovolt transformer substation has a total investment of 71 million yuan, which began construction in December 2009. Two main transformers were put into operation, with a total capacity of 16 megavolt-amperes, and 20 new 20-kilovolt outlets were set up. The total length of the line was 45.4 kilometers. The completion of the 20-kilovolt power supply line will not only make a significant contribution to "energy-saving and low-carbon", but also greatly increase the power supply capacity, and effectively solve the "cracks" problem of power consumption in the Nanyang Industrial Zone in the eastern part of the coast.
