GDC 2017: Google Play releases new development tools and games from Baidu VR

In 2016, about 300 million new users use Android devices in emerging markets such as India, Brazil, and Indonesia. This helped mobile games on Google Play get better cash flow.

Last year, more than 100 million new users were able to use various forms of payment to purchase apps and games on Google Play. Google held its annual developer conference at this year's GDC to reveal more about Google Play.

The Android Nougat version has a Vulkan application interface that supports real-time 3D graphics, and the Pixel smartphone is the first mobile device to support Daydream VR.

"The expansion of Firebase will provide developers with tools and infrastructure for full-game development with real-time analytics, push capabilities, storage and advertising, but still support." said Paul Bankhead, director of product management for Google Play.

To simplify integration performance, Firebase now fully supports C++ and Unity developers. At the same time, in order to help the development of the game, Google Play has made the algorithm more user-friendly, not just downloading games.

“This is one of the ways we guarantee the quality of the game, which is to increase the sense of participation and retention of the game and thus increase the user's stickiness,” said Bankhead.

Developers can also provide strikethrough prices on the Google Play Developer Console development day. The strikeout price allows developers to promote their own price promotions in payment app applications and games, and to increase users' awareness of activeness.

"During our trial operation, developers found that during the promotion period, the installation volume increased by 3-20 times." Bankhead said.

Google Play will also launch a new edit page on the upcoming Play Store at the end of this month. These pages are used to help editors optimize the game experience on the Android system, allowing users to explore different game styles.

New Games on Google Play

Google released some new games that can be pre-registered on Google Play. One of the games is "Transformers: Forged to Fight". This is a game developed by the developer Kabam. The scene is set in an immersive world with high definition and dramatic action. This game not only satisfies "eye vision" but also allows users to interact with props in a 3D environment.

"Battle Breakers" is a role-playing game developed by Epic Games based on Unreal Engine 4. Ubisoft’s Virtual Rabbids allow players to interact and communicate directly with the rabbit. Ubisoft has always been more active on some new platforms. It is no exception on the VR platform, and this VR game requires the use of Daydream head-mounted handles.

"Betopopia" is a multi-role cooperative game developed by Spry Fox. Players can make friends and assist in the game and become a thriving community.
