The MP1593 is a step-down DC-DC device developed by the US company MPS (MonolithIC PowerSystEMS, Inc.). It is available in an 8 PIN small SOP package and is small in size, only 5mm × 4mm × 1.5mm. The IC allows input voltages ranging from 4.75 to 28V, output currents up to 3A, and maximum operating efficiency of 95%. The typical data for this IC is: When inputting 12V, the output is 5V, and the current reaches 2.5A, its working efficiency is 90%. In the case of such a high voltage difference and large current, the IC does not need to be equipped with any heat sink for 24 hours of continuous operation, and the power consumption is very small.
