In the increasingly severe energy situation, the accelerated elimination of incandescent lamps has become an important task for China. In the second half of 2010, the National Development and Reform Commission formulated a roadmap for eliminating inefficient lighting products (incandescent lamps) and promoting high-efficiency energy-saving lighting products to further promote green lighting projects in China.
According to the overall arrangement of the “12th Five-Year Plan†National 863 Program, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued the “Guide to the Application of Major Projects for the Research and Development of Key Materials Technology for Efficient Semiconductor Lighting in the New Material Technology and Technology Field of the National High-Tech Research and Development Programâ€. According to the guide, research and development of energy-efficient, long-life semiconductor lighting products is an important part of the National Medium- and Long-Term Science and Technology Development Plan (2006-2020).
"The release of national policy signals and the introduction of relevant measures will greatly enhance the enthusiasm of lighting companies, and promote the in-depth development of China's green lighting industry and energy conservation and emission reduction work," said Zhang Zhongling, secretary general of the China Building Decoration Association Materials Committee.
Li Jintao, director of the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, told the Gaogong LED reporter that "the energy consumption of semiconductor lighting is one tenth of that of ordinary incandescent lamps, and the life expectancy can reach more than 100,000 hours."
For this reason, since 2007, the United States, the European Union, Japan, Australia, Canada and other countries and regions have announced that they will gradually phase out incandescent lamps and develop the LED lighting industry.
"According to the 12th Five-Year Plan, the semiconductor localization rate of semiconductor lighting projects will reach 70% by 2015, and the industrial scale will reach 500 billion yuan." Xu Jian, chief expert of the Expert Group of New Materials in the National 863 Program, revealed.
At present, China's LED lighting industry is developing rapidly. The LED lighting industry has unit technology with independent intellectual property rights in epitaxial materials, chip manufacturing, device packaging, phosphors, etc. Some of the core technologies are original, and a relatively complete R&D and industrial system has been formed.
The rapid growth of the LED lighting industry is inseparable from the government's vigorous promotion and the scale effect of the company.
