Recently, Guangzhou Lighting Construction Management Center issued a tender announcement. It plans to carry out energy-saving renovation of 75,000 street lamps in the downtown area of ​​Guangzhou before the end of this year, and replace it with more energy-saving and environmentally friendly LED street lamps.

It is reported that the cost of street lamp replacement and maintenance is the responsibility of the winning bidder, and the finance will return the saved electricity bill to the winning bidder. The tender also requires that the maximum service life of LED street lamps is up to 10 years for the energy-saving renovation service cooperation period.

Complete batch transformation before the end of the year
According to the relevant documents of Guangdong Province, the Guangzhou Municipal Government has previously signed the “Responsibility Book for Promoting the Application of LED Lighting Products in Guangdong Province (Pearl River Delta Region)”. According to the “Implementation Plan for Promoting the Use of LED Lighting Products in Guangdong Province”, the new public lighting sector in the province is newly established. The project will adopt LED lights, and the non-LED lighting products originally used in the Pearl River Delta region will be completed in batches before the end of this year.

According to statistics, the number of street lamps and tunnel lights in Guangdong Province from January to March this year has reached 76,000 baht, compared with 75,000 baht in the whole year.

Save electricity costs will return the company
Unlike other tenders in the public construction sector, the tender will not be worth a penny to purchase equipment. The maintenance and management costs of replacement and damage of street lighting equipment are all the responsibility of the winning bidder, and the return that the enterprise can receive is the electricity bill saved during the service period.

That is to say, if the equipment is damaged or the light decay is serious and needs to be replaced during the service period, it will be included in the cost of the enterprise. In addition, after the contract expires, the company will need to provide additional spare parts for two years.

It is understood that the 75,000-inch street lamps with the transformation conditions are mainly distributed in Baiyun, Tianhe, Haizhu, Liwan, Yuexiu and Huangpu districts. The whole project is divided into 8 tenders for bidding.
