Among various key products, the output of household air conditioners increased by 0.3% year-on-year, an increase of 1.8% from January to August; the output of refrigerators decreased by 4.6% year-on-year, a decrease of 2.4 percentage points from January to August.

From January to September 2012, the accumulative total business income of enterprises above designated size in light industry increased by 15.4% year-on-year, which was the same as that of January-August; the cumulative total tax amount increased by 15.8% year-on-year, a decrease of 0.8 percentage points from January to August; The realized profit increased by 17.3% year-on-year, an increase of 1.3% from January to August; the cumulative number of employees rose by 0.2% year-on-year, and the increase rate was 0.2% lower than that in January-August.

On the import side, according to statistics of the General Administration of Customs, from January to September 2012, the cumulative import volume of light industry increased by 3.34% year-on-year. The rate of increase narrowed by 0.18 percentage points from January to August; the value of imports in September increased by 3.05% from the previous month in August.

In terms of exports, from January to September, the cumulative export delivery value of light industry increased by 8.43% year-on-year, an increase of 0.43 percentage points from January to August; of which, the export delivery value in September increased by 9.76% year-on-year, which is higher than the increase from January to August. At 2.46 percentage points, September exports hit another record high in the month.

At present, the export value of light industrial products has increased, but the export volume has not grown in an all-round way. About half of the light industry export products showed a negative growth, while another 20% of the volume of product prices fell. Therefore, the main reason for the increase in export value is the increase in the unit price of product exports, while the increase in the unit price of exports is largely influenced by changes in exchange rates.
