2015 Samsung UHD TV Line Receives U.S. CEA Authority 4K Certification

Samsung Electronics announced on August 30 that all UHD TVs in the Samsung TV 6 Series to 9 Series in 2015 were awarded the 4K Ultra High Definition logo issued by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

It is reported that only UHD TVs that truly have the highest level will be awarded the 4K Ultra HD TV logo by CEA. According to this standard, the CEA logo can directly distinguish between genuine 4K Ultra HDTVs and other products using RGBW pixels.

Not only has CEA logo certification been promoted to increase consumers' awareness of the advantages of UHD TV products, Samsung UHD TV has also passed Digital Europe (DE) certification with the European "UHD Product Official Standard". Global consumers can ensure product quality by looking for the logo on the packaging of their UHD TVs.

Samsung UHD TV Certified by European Digital Europe (DE)

"Samsung has always been committed to providing consumers with the most stunning and most immersive visual experience. We are very honored that Digital Europe (DE) and the Consumer Electronics Association of America (CEA) give Samsung UHD TV the high-end picture quality. "Young Lak Jung, vice president of Samsung Electronics' Video Display Division, said," It is particularly important to set standards for UHD TV. Because of these logos, consumers will only have the time to purchase the latest and most advanced 4K ultra-high definition televisions. With the continuous growth of UHD TV demand, we will continue to work with CEA, DE, etc. to enhance the performance of UHD TV products and clarify the criteria for consumers to purchase products."

In fact, according to the CEA definition, UHD TV requires that the pixels (the smallest unit that constitutes the display) must be able to produce a full range of colors. Some televisions using RGBW pixel configurations do not meet CEA requirements for UHD TV due to pixel color limitations. In the RGBW panel, the white sub-pixels are mixed in the red, green, and blue sub-pixels, not only restricting and limiting the expressiveness of the television display color, but also affecting the sharpness, brightness, and sharpness of the screen, resulting in overall image quality. decline.

In addition to this, CEA puts forward the following requirements for UHD TV products: more than 8 million effective pixels with a resolution of at least 3840×2160; at least one HDMI input, supporting resolutions of 3840×2160 at 24, 30, and 60 frames per second Native content; the minimum color depth is 8 bits.

It is reported that CEA is highly credible and has more than 2,000 members of the National Consumer Electronics Corporation. Not only that, CEA also sponsored the world's largest consumer electronics show - the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). In 2015 alone, the show attracted more than 170,000 participants and 3,631 exhibitors.
