In terms of mobile communications, the pace of infrastructure construction has accelerated and the scale of mobile base stations has reached a new high. The basic telecommunications companies continued to accelerate the “light into the copper retreat†process. The xDSL port decreased by 12.65 million compared with the end of the previous year, and the total number dropped to 26.22 million, accounting for 3.4% from 5.4% at the end of the previous year. The number of fiber access (FTTH/0) ports reached 630 million, a net increase of 92.3 million from the end of the previous year, and the proportion increased from 75.6% at the end of the previous year to 82.7%.
In terms of transmission network, the length of optical cable lines has maintained a relatively fast growth, and the proportion of access network cables has reached 64.3%. From January to September, the country built 5.64 million kilometers of optical cable lines, and the total length of optical cable lines reached 36.06 million kilometers, a year-on-year increase of 25%, maintaining a relatively fast growth trend. Access network cable, local network trunk cable and long-distance cable line accounted for 64.3%, 32.9% and 2.8% respectively.
