IoT security is nothing new for the Zigbee Alliance. We continue to work hard to advance the development of the agreement to meet new market demands and respond to emerging threats. Zigbee 3.0 offers a variety of tools to enable the network to be set up, run and updated safely. The requirement to use Install Code during network formation has been a requirement of Zigbee Smart Energy for many years and has now been added to the Zigbee 3.0 protocol. The Zigbee network is protected by an AES 128-bit network key. In addition, network administrators can apply device-to-device application-layer security mechanisms.
