When the ship is sailing, the fuel, cargo, food, drinking water, etc. on the ship are all in the customized cabin. Ballast water tank is a tank specially designed to hold ballast water for adjusting the sailing performance such as trim, heel, draft, center of gravity and stability of the ship. During the operation of the ship, the load, life and fuel materials on the ship are changing. These changes will change the original ship's draft, or the front and rear deadweight, which will affect the navigation performance of the ship.
In order to adjust in time the problems affecting the stability of the ship caused by changes in the ship's cargo during operation, the designers designed "ballast water tanks", which are distributed in the double bottom tank, forepeak tank, aft peak tank and side tank. or in deep water tanks.
The water in the tank is sucked or discharged by the pump, so that the ship can keep the ballast normal and the trim normal, this is the ship ballast water system. For example, due to the excessive unloading of the port cargo hold, the port side loses ballast, and the ship may tilt to the right. At this time, as long as water is poured into the port side tank, the original ballast is restored and the ship is stabilized.

In the pipeline system of the ship's power plant, in addition to the power system pipeline necessary for the normal navigation of the main engine, the pipelines of the ballast water system, the bilge water system and the water fire fighting system to ensure the safe operation of the ship are also important components. These three systems all use seawater as the medium and share a seawater main pipe. When necessary, the seawater main supply pump, fire pump or main pump can be considered or shared with each other.
The ship's ballast water system is composed of ballast water pump, ballast water pipeline, ballast water tank and related valve parts and valve boxes. The system has completed the timely and effective injection, discharge or transfer of ballast water in each ballast tank:
(1) Keep the ship in proper displacement and draft, and maintain the longitudinal and lateral balance of the hull;
(2) Keep the hull at a certain stability height;
(3) Reduce the deformation of the hull, so that the hull is protected from excessive bending moment and excessive shear force;
