According to statistics from the China Battery Industry Association, there are currently more than 2,000 lead battery companies in China, and there are about 1800 enterprises that have production licenses, and only 200 companies with output value of more than 5 million yuan, less than 10% of the total number. The output value is less than 100 million yuan.

Recently, many lead-acid storage battery companies in Guangdong have reported that their labor is strained, and even some companies have already affected their normal production due to the tight employment. In early July, due to the continued emergence of blood lead incidents and competing reports from the media, people’s concerns about the work of the lead-acid battery industry have been exacerbated and they are reluctant to engage in such industries.

Domestic advantageous enterprises will further enjoy the benefits of the "admission requirements." The vacant market share is undoubtedly encouraging encouragement enterprises to continue to expand investment and increase production capacity. At the same time, the "admission conditions" also make lead battery manufacturers have a say in pricing.

Lead-battery costs have fallen, prices have risen, and there has been a gap in market supply. These three factors have led domestic leading lead-acid battery companies to increase their orders, and production arrangements have been running at full capacity.

According to industry analysts: As the "access conditions" for battery companies put forward more stringent environmental requirements, once introduced, will also make half of the companies face the choice of life and death.

Since May of this year, due to heavy metal pollution, the lead storage battery industry has suffered unprecedented reorganization by the environmental protection department. After this rectification, what will lead-acid battery companies do?

According to industry association statistics, the government's efforts to rectify the lead battery industry are unprecedented. Discontinued production capacity now accounts for about 60% of total production capacity. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology hopes that the industry will retain only 300-400 companies in the future (currently there are more than 2,000 companies). Judging from the results of reorganization in major provinces, the most stringent rectifications were in Zhejiang, Guangdong, and Jiangsu provinces. Over 300 companies in Zhejiang, more than 60% of the enterprises have been directly banned and closed; over 180 enterprises in Guangdong have been shut down (Guangdong's major exports, accounting for 65% of domestic exports in 10 years); nearly 500 companies in Jiangsu, 60% of which have ceased production capacity. Shandong, Hebei, and Henan have been relatively lightly reorganized, with production cut-off capacity accounting for about one-third of the total.

The reporter recently learned from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Environmental Protection that a number of 451 companies involved in lead production have been inspected by our province in the recent environmental protection special inspections for lead-related production companies across the province. Among them, 275 have stopped production, rectified or closed down, and at the same time, Some small lead-acid battery companies with backward processes and serious pollution have also been shut down in accordance with the law. The environmental situation of lead-producing enterprises in the province is severe.
