Taobao shopkeeper defrauded nearly 140,000 approved for arrest

Using Taobao's automatic payment function, Yuan Mou and Fang Mou’s siblings lied about providing tourism services in the Maldives, defrauding more than RMB 130,000. The reporter learned yesterday that the Haidian Procuratorate approved the arrest of two persons for fraud.

In June last year, Fang Fang used other people's identity information and mobile phone cards to register Taobao seller accounts with Maldivian tourism products in bulk. Yuan You then hired an online agency to shop for brush credit to gain buyer trust. On August 30th, the buyer Liu discovered Fang's “Happy Trip Trip” online shop, booked three Maldivian hotel rooms, eight flights from Beijing to Malé and one flight from Singapore to Malé. Yuan Mou applied for an order through a company that had Maldivian hotel's agency rights. After sending a confirmation letter to Liu, he cheated Liu and paid 136,650 yuan through Alipay. Three days later, the system automatically confirmed that the transaction was successful. The money was transferred to Yuan's bank card. Yuan Mou revoked the Maldives hotel booking contract and quickly squandered the money.

After Yuan Mou and Fang Mou arrived at the case, the prosecutor discovered that Yuan Mou had been arrested by the Hangzhou police for selling fake tickets on the Internet. He was released on bail after pregnancy and breast-feeding twice. During the period of taking out insurance, he was on Taobao again. In the name of Maldives tourism, fraudulent activities are conducted.
